About the Therapist Samara Silverman is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with training in Somatic Experiencing® — Intermediate Level of Study. She works with adults and brings a thoughtful, compassionate approach to clients navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, neurodiversity, life transitions, school-related stress, and the emotional impact of chronic overwhelm. Samara’s work is rooted in the understanding that healing happens through both the mind and the body. Trauma, stress, and emotional pain are not only experienced through thoughts—they are also expressed through the nervous system, muscle tension, overwhelm, shutdown, and patterns of reactivity. By helping clients notice what is happening in their bodies in a safe and supported way, Samara helps create deeper healing that goes beyond insight alone. She integrates Somatic Experiencing®, person-centered care, trauma-informed therapy, grounding work, and nervous system regulation techniques to support clients in developing awareness, resilience, and a stronger sense of safety. Her style is collaborative and paced with care so that clients can explore difficult experiences without feeling overwhelmed. Samara believes that when clients reconnect with their bodies, they often begin to understand themselves differently. Through this process, therapy can support more regulation, more flexibility, and more lasting emotional well-being.

What to Expect Your first session with Samara focuses on what brings you in, what feels difficult right now, and what you want to feel differently in your life. Her approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in safety. Rather than only talking through challenges, she helps you notice and work with what is happening in your body in the present moment. Because Samara uses a somatic lens, sessions may include slowing down, tracking internal sensations, building awareness of your nervous system, and practicing tools that help you feel more grounded and regulated. Over time, this work can support greater emotional stability, increased resilience, and a deeper sense of connection to yourself.
