INFRARED SAUNA & LIGHT THERAPY
GENTLE HEAT FOR STRESS, PAIN, AND NERVOUS-SYSTEM RESET
Our infrared sauna and light therapy sessions are designed to support stress relief, detoxification, muscle recovery, sleep, and mood—while pairing seamlessly with psychotherapy and other wellness services at Astute.
WHY INFRARED & LIGHT THERAPY MATTER FOR MENTAL & PHYSICAL HEALTH
Mental health: Infrared heat can help calm the nervous system, encourage deeper breathing, and support parasympathetic activity (our “rest and digest” mode). Many clients feel less anxious, more grounded, and notice improved sleep after consistent sessions. Light therapy may also support mood regulation, especially during darker months or periods of high stress.
Physical health: By gently raising core temperature, infrared sauna may improve circulation, support muscle recovery, ease joint pain and stiffness, and promote sweating as part of the body’s natural detoxification pathways. Over time, sessions can contribute to lower perceived pain and improved post-workout recovery.
- Supports nervous-system regulation and deep relaxation
- May improve sleep quality and help “downshift” before bed
- Supports muscle recovery and joint mobility
- Encourages circulation and gentle detoxification through sweating
- Can complement psychotherapy, massage, acupuncture, and yoga therapy
WHAT IS INFRARED SAUNA & LIGHT THERAPY?
Infrared saunas use wavelengths of light to gently heat the body from the inside out, instead of relying solely on hot air like traditional saunas. This can feel more tolerable for many people while still encouraging sweating, relaxation, and circulation.
Sessions are private and can be customized to your comfort level with adjustable temperature, session length, and optional color/light settings.
- Gradual, gentle heat to support comfort and safety
- Sessions typically range from 25–40 minutes
- Can be paired with calm music, guided breathing, or silence
Light Therapy & Mood
Light therapy options may be incorporated to support circadian rhythm, alertness, and mood—especially helpful during winter months or for those who feel more fatigued or low in energy when natural light is limited.
- May support mood regulation and seasonal blues
- Can be timed to avoid interfering with bedtime
- Integrates well with therapy goals around sleep and routine
