Dilyana Mitreva, LCSW, is empathetic, open-minded, result-driven therapist whose main goal is to support clients through their life journey and help them become the best version of themselves. Dilyana received her master’s in Clinical Social Work from University of Illinois at Chicago and her bachelor’s in Psychology from Northeastern Illinois University. Dilyana has years of experience in acute Residential, PHP, and IOP mental health settings. She is devoted to working with adults with a wide breadth of mental health challenges, mood, anxiety, personality, and trauma disorders. Dilyana has a holistic perspective to wellbeing, acknowledging the internal, interpersonal, spiritual & cultural factors that affect our lives. Her approach is collaborative, client-centered, heavily influenced by the humanistic perspective and celebrates diversity.
Dilyana tailors treatment based on clients’ wants and needs while maintaining a fundamentally authentic, direct, and dynamically engaged clinical style and sensibility. She has experience working with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, panic disorder, PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder), BPD (Borderline Personality Disorder), OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder), relationships issues, and life transitions. She is trained in multiple evidence-based approaches, such as DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy), ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), CBT (Cognitive Behavior Therapy), RO-DBT (Radically Open Dialectical Behavior Therapy), ERP (Exposure Response Prevention), Mindfulness and certified in CPT (Cognitive Processing Therapy), which is an evidenced based intervention for PTSD.
