Christy Wiggers

Christy Wiggers is a psychodynamic–existential therapist who helps adults, couples, adoptees, and professionals uncover the cognitive and behavioral patterns shaping identity, relationships, and emotional well-being. Her integrative approach offers practical strategies for managing present-day anxiety while exploring the enduring influence of past experiences. Guided by a trauma-informed framework, she holds space for the understanding that many behaviors and emotional struggles are natural, yet painful and often no longer helpful, responses to overwhelming experiences. Grounded in a holistic belief in the mind–body connection, she integrates awareness of the relationship between physical, emotional, and cognitive well-being into her work. Christy holds a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, where she was selected as Distinguished Graduate.

Christy’s clinical experience includes supporting cross-cultural, multiracial, multiethnic, and LGBTQ+ adults healing from sexual abuse, complex trauma, and relational difficulties. These clients are often working through themes of identity, attachment, intimacy, grief, and life transitions. Drawing on her lived experience as a Korean American adoptee and a prior 20-year career in corporate leadership, she brings unique insight to her clients’ emotional and professional challenges. She also draws on extensive experience helping clients navigate cross-gender dynamics, communication challenges, and relational patterns that impact connection, trust, and partnership in both personal and professional environments.

Christy’s style is warm, curious, and collaborative, creating a safe space for reflection and growth. Integrating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and mindfulness within her depth-oriented framework, she helps clients break old patterns, deepen self-understanding, and live with greater balance, authenticity, and joy.
