CHELSEA ALARCON

It has always been a passion of Chelsea’s to help people build resiliency, self-confidence and ongoing life satisfaction. She feels a sense of great reward from having deep and meaningful connections with others. This is exactly why Chelsea chose to study psychology in college and go on to get a Masters degree in Clinical-Counseling Psychology. Many of her clients have never been to therapy before. She thinks it takes a very courageous person to reach out for help and Chelsea truly admires that resilience. There’s no better time than now to build up on your strengths and work with a clinical professional to assist you with your areas of improvement.

Chelsea has worked in the mental health field since 2012 and is a Certified Compassion Fatigue Professional (CCFP). She has worked with many different types of people from teens to millennials and aging folks with diverse presenting issues (depression, anxiety, panic, couples therapy, fertility/infertility, family planning, women’s health issues, adjusting to parenthood, career dissatisfaction, trauma, domestic violence etc). She also has worked with many artistic clients (e.g., comedians, writers, actors, social media and bloggers) on issues relevant to their type of work (e.g., blocks in creativity, job performance anxiety, vulnerability). She uses a combination of treatment strategies when working with patients. Chelsea believes it’s best to pull in from many different psychologies to meet client needs, work with where they are in the process to make long and short term achievable goals for the future.

Clients come see Chelsea because they want a more direct and interactive approach to therapy. Someone who is a combination of empathetic, challenging and insightful with the clinical skills to treat mild-major mental health concerns. Some clients choose to work on one particular issue in therapy, while others want to address their ongoing life challenges. She tailors her approach and the vision for treatment to meet your specific needs. Chelsea is well-versed in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person Centered Therapy and the Gottman Method for a Couples Therapy.
